Early this morning, the ASTURPESCA purchasing team attended the auction of the first white tuna of the 2021 season at the Avilés fish market.
As is tradition, “El Campanu”, the nickname by which this first specimen is known in Asturias, was bought by the supermarket chain Alimerka at a price of 350.60 euros/kilo.
The tuna was landed by the vessel Gaztelugatxeko Doniene.
With this, today, 31 May 2021, the 2021 Bonito Campaign is launched and we will soon be able to offer you this tasty blue fish, reminding you that we also have it available with MSC sustainability certification.
