We have just launched the mackerel campaign in Asturias.
The Asturian fishing fleet began the mackerel or “xarda” season on Monday 9 March with a quota of 1,750,000 kilos and the participation of 165 boats, which represents a 41% increase over 2019.
In addition to the 1,750,000 kilos allocated to the Asturian fishing fleet, there is also the part that will correspond to the region for the distribution of additional quotas from exchanges between species (swaps), with that it could exceed 2 million kilos.
